A head-on crash in Blacksmith Fork Canyon on Saturday night killed one motorcyclist and injured another, according to officials.
Cpl. Luis Silva with the Utah Highway Patrol told ABC4.com that the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on SR-101 in Blacksmith Fork Canyon.
Silva said one of the involved riders was a 26-year-old man who was riding a Suzuki and traveling eastbound. The other rider involved was a 27-year-old mand traveling westbound on a Kawasaki.
The motorcyclist on the Suzuki was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he crossed the center line. Silva said both riders made leg-to-leg contact and were thrown from their respective motorcycles.
According to officials, the Suzuki rider died at the scene. The Kawasaki rider suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
