Alphonse Conrad Brorman, 84, of Amarillo, TX passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
Rosary will be said at 6 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2024, at Immaculate Conception in Vega, TX. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Immaculate Conception in Vega, TX with Fr. Mitch Przepiora as celebrant. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega.
Alphonse was born September 28, 1939, in Hereford, TX to Henry and Caroline Brorman. He grew up on a farm northeast of Hereford. He always said he started farming when he was 5 years old with this toy farm under a shade tree.
He served in the Army Reserves from 1962 until 1968.
Alphonse married the love of his life, Myrna Haiduk, on February 5, 1966, in White Deer, TX, and were married for fifty-eight years. Alphonse and Myrna spent many enjoyable evenings going dancing.
Alphonse farmed 10 miles south of Vega, TX until he retired. He always liked to build things out of scraps, and he enjoyed playing golf. He also believed that he could fix most anything with a bit of glue. After being confined to a wheelchair he took up doing jigsaw puzzles and coloring to pass the time.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Vega, TX. He was the first Eucharist minister at Vega when the church began to allow lay people to serve in that capacity. He also was instrumental in forming a men’s choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Caroline Brorman; his brothers, Joe, Harry, and Jimmy; and his sisters, Louise Spinhirne, Annie Hebert, and Sister Pauline Brorman OSF.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna Brorman, of Amarillo, TX; a son, Clyde Brorman and wife Sherrie, of Vega, TX; a daughter, Corrina Eberhardt and husband Anthony, of Johnstown, CO; a sister, Delores Frerich; eight grandchildren, Kelcey, Macey, Katelynn, Molly, Chandra, Taylor, Jenna, and Phillip; and eight great-grandchildren, Hallen, Hagen, Holstyn, Swayzee, EmberLee, Khai, Hallie, and Devan.
