Greg Brown Basketball icon and a local high school coach and former Lobo basketball player, passed away in an automobile accident on Friday. He died at the age of 51, leaving amny hearts scarred after learning of his sudden death, Without any doubt, he will always be missed by all those who had the privilege of meeting him during the course of his life. The general public will be urged to keep the whole family of Greg Brown in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this sad and difficult time.
Life and Career
Throughout his high school career, Brown was a member of the Albuquerque High Bulldogs. He was selected the 1990 New Mexico Player of the Year after leading AHS to a state championship. His Bulldogs performance earned him a position in New Mexico Junior College, where he performed admirably once more.
After a fruitful two years in Hobbs, where he was recognized as a junior college All-American, head coach Dave Bliss of the University of New Mexico became interested in Brown. Later, he went back to Albuquerque to perform for the Lobos of his birthplace.
