American singer-songwriter Angela Tomasa Bofill was born on May 2, 1954, and her parents are from Puerto Rico and Cuba. Bofill, a native of New York, started her professional career in the middle of the 1970s. The tracks “This Time I’ll Be Sweeter,” “Angel of the Night,” and “I Try” are the ones for which Bofill is most known. Bofill has worked for more than 40 years.
Bofill was born on May 2, 1954, to a Puerto Rican mother and a Cuban father in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City. Bofill was inspired by African-American performers and grew up listening to Latin music while growing up in The Bronx. When Bofill was younger, she spent her weekends studying classical music and performing in the All City Chorus in New York City, which included the top vocalists from each of the city’s five boroughs. Bofill attended Hunter College High School for his high school education, graduating in 1972. Afterwards, Bofill attended the Manhattan School of Music, where he graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Music degree.
