With profound sadness, we announce the passing of James “Jim” Anderson, a beloved member of our community, who left us on June 10, 2024. Jim was a beacon of kindness and love, known for his generous spirit and warm heart. He touched the lives of many, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a comforting word.
Jim was born on August 15, 1955, in Ridgeway, Ontario, where he spent his entire life. He graduated from Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School and later earned a degree in Engineering from McMaster University. Jim was a civil engineer for over 35 years, contributing significantly to various local infrastructure projects. His commitment to excellence and tireless work ethic made him a respected professional and a cherished colleague.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jim was a devoted family man. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary, and they raised three wonderful children: John, Sarah, and Emily. Jim’s family was his greatest pride and joy; he cherished every moment spent with them. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping, often sharing these passions with his family and friends.
A funeral service will honor Jim’s life at Williams Funeral Home, 722 Ridge Rd. N., Ridgeway, Ontario, on June 22nd. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ridgeway Community Food Bank in Jim’s memory.
