MAYS LANDING, NJ – A local jury convicted Kenneth Creek, 49, of Atlantic City, of first-degree murder and multiple firearm offenses. The verdict came after a week-long trial for the killing of 31-year-old Jordan Eaddy from Philadelphia.
The incident that led to Creek’s conviction occurred on August 25, 2022, at the South Carolina Apartments Complex in Atlantic City. Responding to an emergency call just after midnight, police discovered Eaddy dead on the scene with two gunshot wounds. Video evidence presented during the trial showed Creek shooting at Eaddy as he tried to escape, with a fatal shot hitting his back.
Additionally, Creek was found guilty of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose. The court also convicted him of being a certain person not to possess firearms, adding to his charges.
The trial, presided over by Judge Pamela Darcy, J.S.C., began on Monday, June 3, and concluded with the jury’s decision on Tuesday. Creek now faces a sentence ranging from 30 years to life in state prison, with sentencing scheduled for September 25.
The case was marked by Creek’s claim of self-defense, which the jury ultimately rejected, leading to his multiple convictions.
