The Bay City Department of Public Safety is investigating the shooting death of a 28-year-old male. This week’s autopsy is planned to ascertain the cause of death for victim Simeon Berry. Due to gunfire, officers were called to the vicinity of McKinley Avenue and N. Jefferson Street about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berry was discovered to have multiple gunshot wounds. He was suffering from potentially fatal injuries in an open location in the 500 block of North Jefferson. After receiving care, Berry passed away.
Two Black male suspects were reportedly observed by the police leaving the scene after perhaps getting into a silver SUV. At the location, officers found evidence, and the investigation is still ongoing. Michigan State Police, who had been in the area shortly before the incident, provided assistance to the officers.
