DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place on the afternoon of June 10, 2024, in the unincorporated area of District Heights. The incident resulted in the death of 19-year-old Anthony Ward III from Upper Marlboro, with two other victims sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting occurred outside a business located in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike at approximately 3:15 pm. Upon arrival, police officers found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately administered life-saving measures. Sadly, Ward was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case. Initial investigations suggest that the incident was not random.
The Prince George’s County Police Department urges anyone with information about this tragic event to come forward and assist in the investigation.
