Bernice Pawilan Death – Officials have reported a fatal accident on Interstate 294 in the north suburbs. The incident occurred near Golf Road in Des Plaines, just before 4 p.m. on Friday. Tragically, one driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 76-year-old Bernice Pawilan from Ingleside, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Additionally, three other drivers were transported to the hospital with injuries. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. As a result of the crash, three left lanes on southbound I-294 were temporarily closed for investigation purposes.
However, I am pleased to inform you that all lanes have since been reopened.
