Joshua Nelson Death Waterville, Maine – In a tragic accident on Wednesday afternoon, Joshua Nelson, 35, lost his life in a fatal collision involving a dump truck and a sedan. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when Nelson, driving a white Mitsubishi dump truck, collided with a gray Toyota Camry. The Camry was making a left turn onto West River Road from Trafton Road when the collision happened, according to Waterville police Maj. Jason Longley.
The force of the impact ejected both Nelson and the driver of the Camry from their vehicles. Unfortunately, Nelson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Camry, whose identity is being withheld due to their age, was initially taken to Northern Light Inland Hospital in Waterville. They were later transferred to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for further treatment.
Maj. Longley provided the update on Friday morning, emphasizing that the crash remains under investigation. Details surrounding the circumstances of the collision are still being examined, as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic accident.
