A Salem, Massachusetts, man died after he was involved in a crash in Seabrook, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, police said.
New Hampshire State Police reported that the crash occurred around 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Lawrence Street. According to the statement, the 47-year-old Salem man was riding his motorcycle southbound on Ocean Boulevard immediately before the incident.
Police said that the motorcyclist passed another vehicle and was attempting to reenter the left lane of travel when he collided with the back of a pickup truck driven by a 45-year-old man from Revere.
The impact caused the Salem man to lose control of his motorcycle. After the collision, the motorcycle veered off the road, traveling through a field before entering the front yard of a nearby home. The motorcycle struck a raised flowerbed, causing the rider to be thrown from his bike.
Emergency responders were called to the scene, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities have not yet released his identity pending notification of his family.
The driver of the pickup truck did not sustain any injuries in the crash. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
