A young man died in the early morning hours of Sunday after the car he was driving crashed into a wall, police said.
The man, described as in his 20s, but not yet named by police, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata that crashed into a retaining wall on the west side of the intersection of Elizabeth at North Beacon streets, police said.
The crash occurred just after 1 a.m. Sunday, March 8, police said.
Hartford officers who were dispatched to the area of Elizabeth at North Beacon streets found the Hyundai Sonata crashed into a retaining wall on the west side of the intersection, police said.
The driver was suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
