DaMya Cummerlander Obituary – During the vigil held to honor Da’Mya Cummerlander’s life, tragedy struck as two individuals were fatally shot, as reported by Ohio authorities. Cummerlander, who was only 18 years old, had been shot and killed shortly after midnight on Sunday, June 2, as per The Columbus Dispatch.
Family members mentioned that she was attending a graduation party when the shooting occurred, according to WBNS. As of Monday, no suspects had been identified. Da’Mya’s mother, Monique Thompson, described her as a loving and unique individual with a bright future ahead of her. Columbus Police Sgt. Joseph Albert stated that at least 50 people had gathered for the vigil at Krumm Park on Monday when multiple shots were fired. The two male victims were found shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the victims is believed to be a child. It remains unclear if the shooting at the vigil is connected to Cummerlander’s murder. Police have not named a suspect and are uncertain about the number of individuals involved in firing weapons.
