A man is dead following a tree-cutting accident in Trumbull on Wednesday.
Javier Valdovinos, 66, was found dead when emergency crews responded to his home on White Plains Road at 3:20 p.m. on the report of a fatal tree-cutting accident, according to the Trumbull Police Department.
Police and paramedics were at the scene within minutes when they found Valdovinos suffering from severe injuries, police said. They attempted to perform life-saving measures and quickly found that Valdovinos had died before crews arrived, according to police.
A preliminary investigation found that Valdovinos was cutting a large tree limb when he became entrapped between the limb and the tree, police said. Two other residents were home at the time and immediately called 911.
Valdovinos’s body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
