Roberto Baez Obituary – The deceased individual following a shooting in Waterbury early Tuesday morning is being investigated as a homicide by the police. Law enforcement officers were dispatched to Washington Street at approximately 12:16 a.m. in response to reports of gunfire and a gunshot victim who had been transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital in a private vehicle.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Roberto Baez, a resident of Waterbury, who succumbed to his injuries sustained in the shooting at the hospital. Authorities suspect that the shooting took place on Washington Street following a disturbance of some kind and have classified it as an isolated occurrence.
