Austin was not just an accomplished rider and coach, but also a kind and humble friend who would go above and beyond to assist anyone in need. Austin’s unrelenting generosity was one of his defining characteristics. He was the kind of guy who, without thinking twice, would give you the shirt off his back and was always willing to help you. Austin was always there, giving of himself unselfishly for the benefit of others, whether it was by giving advice on the track or just listening.
He was a trainer unmatched by anyone. His love of motocross was contagious, and he was unwavering in his commitment to seeing others achieve. He had a talent for bringing out the best in his pupils, encouraging them to set personal goals and imparting sportsmanship principles and tenacity. He was extraordinarily humble and never sought attention or recognition, even in the face of his extraordinary talent and accomplishments.
For him, motocross was more than just a sport; it was a way of life, and he was willing to share his enthusiasm with everyone who was open to learning. The many lives he touched, the riders he motivated, and the friendships he made along the road will all bear witness to his legacy. His influence will endure forever, and his memory will always be treasured.
