Death; Dr. Mark M. Maslovich, MD, Obstetrician-gynecologist in Lansing, Michigan, Obituary, Is Dead: Dr. Mark Maslovich, MD, a gynecologist and obstetrician from Alma, Michigan, has sadly gone away. At the age of 59, he passed away on June 1, 2024, a Saturday. Walter and Marlene (née Lykoff) Maslovich welcomed him into the world on June 3, 1964, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His life was characterized by a profound dedication to helping others, a devotion that shaped his medical profession and left an enduring impression on a great number of people.
With a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Dr. Maslovich started his academic career and laid the groundwork for his future medical activities. He attended the prestigious University of Western Ontario to get his medical degree, where he developed a strong knowledge of the complexity of the human body. Following his graduation from medical school, Mark traveled to Northern Ontario, where he worked for two years as a family physician. During this period, he realized that obstetrics and gynecology offered a special chance to significantly improve the health and well-being of women, and he found his passion in the field.
Dr. Maslovich moved to Alma, Michigan in 2019 and settled in as a general obstetrician and gynecologist, embracing the profession with unflinching dedication and commitment. Mark’s wife Renu, kids Liam and Emily (Trace Kuberski), mother Marlene, brothers Randy (Laura), Christopher, and Terry (Jodi), nephew Ethan, niece Madelyn, mother-in-law Leela Varkey, brother-in-law Joe Varkey, and numerous other family members and friends worldwide will all always love and cherish Mark. Father Walter, father-in-law Dr. George P. Varkey, grandparents Harry and Anna Maslovich, Sam and Eleanor Lykoff, Stan Ramsay, and uncles Phil and Steve Maslovich all passed away before Mark did.
Motivated by a sincere desire to become the best in his field and a voracious appetite for information, Dr. Maslovich moved to Ann Arbor to complete his residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Here, he became fully immersed in the nuances of the field and honed his abilities under the direction of mentors and seasoned experts. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11 am at Masonic Pathways, Doig Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4-7 pm at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma.
