Motorcyclist Hurt After Crashing With Vehicle Near On-Ramp For I-84 In Southington: Southington, CT – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle near the on-ramp for Interstate 84 on South Main Street in Southington on Sunday night, according to local police. Officers from the Southington Police Department responded to the scene at South Main Street and Mulberry Street around 10:45 p.m. following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a Nissan Xterra. Both vehicles suffered damage, and injuries were reported.
Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the 66-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling southbound on South Main Street. At the same time, a man driving a Nissan Xterra was heading northbound and began to make a left turn onto I-84 East, crossing into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The collision occurred in the southbound lane of South Main Street near the on-ramp for I-84 East, resulting in serious injuries to the motorcyclist. Emergency medical services arrived promptly and transported him to St. Mary’s Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
