Aariah Henry Obituary – Authorities in Louisiana have reported the tragic death of a 16-year-old girl in what appears to be a deliberate and targeted killing. The St. John Sheriff’s Office is now seeking assistance from the public to gather leads in the investigation.
St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre expressed his determination to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing that they should not be allowed to roam freely in the streets of St. John Parish or anywhere else in the state or country. The victim, identified as Aariah Henry, was shot once in the hip during the early hours of Sunday morning. Surveillance footage captured the moment another vehicle pulled up alongside Henry’s car and opened fire. Despite being rushed to St. James Hospital for emergency treatment, Henry succumbed to her injuries.
The St. John Sheriff’s Office stated that based on witness statements and camera footage, this appears to be a targeted attack, but currently, no leads have been identified. Sheriff Tregre revealed that Henry was traveling with two other underage girls and three adult men after attending a nearby party. The suspects’ car was observed on surveillance footage parked on a dark street near the party, following the victims’ car to a gas station, and then speeding up to catch them at the intersection where the shooting occurred.
The three adult males accompanying Henry have refused to cooperate with law enforcement, leaving investigators to rely solely on technology and crime cameras for evidence. The suspects’ car was eventually found hidden under a tarp at the end of a dead-end street, having been reported stolen from New Orleans in March.
