An incident suspected to involve gunfire at Harford Mall prompted an immediate evacuation on Sunday, according to the Bel Air Police Department. The municipal law enforcement agency in Maryland used social media to alert Harford County residents to avoid the area.
Following a swift response to the reported shooting near the shopping center, a joint investigation was launched by the Police Department and other local authorities. It was unclear if anyone was injured in the incident, which was reported from the 600 block of Belair Road.
“AVOID THE AREA OF HARFORD MALL WHILE WE INVESTIGATE A SHOOTING,” the Bel Air Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
The police were accompanied by Harford County fire officials, who stated that crews from Bel Air and EMS units were on the scene. Earlier, a dispatch was rushed to the site after police received reports of the shooting near the mall. The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to gather more details about the incident. Residents are advised to stay clear of the area until further notice.
