Route 101 NH Accident Today, 1 person hospitalized after serious crash in Candia, police say: On Friday, a serious crash on Route 101 in Candia resulted in one person being hospitalized, according to New Hampshire State Police. Authorities reported that they received a call about a wrong-way driver on Route 101 Westbound around 2:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, first responders found that Michael Mallet, 18, from Vermont, was driving eastbound and had switched lanes, colliding with a pickup truck towing a trailer, driven by David Dooley, 24, from Londonderry. The impact caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles, leading to the pickup truck rolling over. Both vehicles ultimately came to rest in the westbound lane, facing the wrong direction.
First responders assessed the drivers and a juvenile passenger for injuries. David Dooley was transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester with a minor head injury. The westbound left lane of Route 101 was closed for over an hour as crews worked to clear the scene and ensure the road was safe for travel.
