Aimee Odom Obituary – Family and friends convened to commemorate the life of Aimee Odom, the 21-year-old woman from Cartersville who tragically lost her life in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 75 in Bartow County on May 19. The celebration of her life took place at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville on Friday.
During the ceremony, one of Aimee’s friends expressed, “We owe who we are to Aimee, and she will forever remain in our hearts.” Aimee’s close friend, Alexis Raines, along with Raines’ mother, Heather Pasley, were present at the gathering. Raines shared, “It was comforting to bid farewell surrounded by everyone who loved her.”
Pasley added, “It was a true testament to the impact Aimee had on people’s lives.” In honor of Aimee Odom, some of her closest friends intend to create a lasting tribute at one of her favorite locations in Cartersville. They described her fondness for Sam Smith Park, situated along the Etowah River Walk. They aspire to immortalize her memory in some way within the park.
Raines expressed that with Aimee’s passing, the world lost a radiant soul. She said, “It is heart-wrenching. Sad. I struggle to find the right words. Aimee had an incredible sense of humor and a genuine kindness towards others. She had the ability to instantly make anyone her friend because she genuinely cared about everyone. If you knew her, you loved her.”
They hope to plant a tree in the park as a tribute to Aimee, as it was a place she cherished. Raines explained, “She adored going there, whether it was to witness the breathtaking sunsets, take leisurely walks, or simply immerse herself in nature. Our intention is to plant a tree so that whenever we visit, we can always remember her and have a special place dedicated to her.”
Raines mentioned that Aimee’s family shares the same desire. Aimee’s mother, Barbara Odom, expressed her wish to create a way for the community to remember her daughter, as Aimee had a deep affection for the Cartersville community. Additionally, it was a place where Aimee spent time running and exercising just last week. Therefore, Raines and Barbara Odom are currently raising funds to plant the tree and install a plaque in Aimee’s memory.
Thus, the opportunity to fulfill her parents’ request and honor
