Tejacque Rene Richey Obituary – Tejacque Rene Richey, a 56-year-old resident of Charlotte, has been identified by the police as the man who tragically lost his life in a head-on collision involving a cement truck near Charlotte on Tuesday. According to the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office, Richey was driving his pickup truck west on Lawrence Highway at Bradley Road around 3:55 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the oncoming cement truck.
As a result of the impact, the cement truck overturned onto its side, partially coming into contact with another vehicle traveling westbound. Fortunately, the occupant of that vehicle sustained only minor injuries, while the cement truck driver emerged unharmed. At the time of the accident, the cement truck was carrying a load of 11 yards of concrete, as confirmed by the police.
Due to the severity of the crash, Lawrence Highway was completely closed between North Bradley and North Ainger roads for the remainder of the day and the following morning. This closure allowed the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and facilitated the cleanup of the road by the crews.
Based on preliminary investigations, the sheriff’s office has determined that drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors in the collision. However, the investigation is still ongoing to gather further information and establish the exact cause of the accident.
