Ellen Yarnell Obituary, Altoona, PA Resident Passed Away Suddenly: Ellen M. Yarnell, 19, of Altoona, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday after a brief battle with mental illness. Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of Todd J. and Rebecca L. (Langenbacher) Yarnell.
Ellen is survived by her parents; her brother, Isaac Yarnell; her great-grandfather, Ron Wininger; her papa, Michael Langenbacher; her great-aunts, Janice Lindsey and Ronda Wininger; her uncles, Larry and Waylon Yarnell; her aunt, Michelle Langenbacher; her cousins: Jamen, Kaleb, Grace, Michele, and Jeff Ocker; and many others whom she touched with her kindness and infectious smile, including special friends: Joelle, Rachel, Victoria, Cali, Lydia, Mrs. Clever, and Mrs. Watt.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Nana, Grammy, and Pappy Yarnell; her great-grandmothers, Nancy Wininger and Betty Langenbacher; and her great-grandfather, Edgar Langenbacher. Ellen graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 2023, where she was active in band, music, visual arts programs, and Cross Country. Currently, she was attending IUP’s Cooks Honors College for Speech and Language Pathology.Ellen was deeply devoted to her faith and was active with Young Life. She enjoyed baking, outdoor adventures, spending time with family, and her beloved dog, Luna. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Hicks Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Rich Morris.
