A Coventry man was arrested following a wellness check on Friday after police learned he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest and discovered he was allegedly manufacturing ghost guns at his residence.
Matthew George, 47, was taken into custody Friday on two active arrest warrants, according to the Coventry Police Department.
Police said the investigation started as a welfare check when officers allegedly discovered evidence that ghost guns were being manufactured in the residence.
Police obtained a risk warrant and risk protection order followed by an arrest warrant and the preliminary investigation revealed that George was allegedly stalking a family member for several months.
According to police, an additional arrest warrant was granted. In total, George is charged with illegal possession of an assault weapon, manufacture of a ghost gun, electronic stalking and second-degree stalking. He was held on a combined $400,000 bond and was arraigned at Rockville Superior Court on Friday.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
