Drew Gordon Death, Brother of Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon, Dies in Car Accident at Age 33: According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, former NBA player Drew Gordon passed away at the age of 33 after being involved in an automobile accident on Thursday, May 30.
Gordon, the older brother of Denver Nuggets player Aaron Gordon, spent the most of his professional career overseas and went undrafted in 2012. In 2014, Gordon made nine appearances in nine NBA games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
“Drew Gordon, 33, lost his life in an automobile accident. Gordon, who attended UCLA and New Mexico for his college ball, has played professionally in the US and overseas. He appeared in nine games with the 76ers during the 2014–15 season. Drew Gordon, a forward with the Nuggets, is the older brother. Charania posted on his X account, “RIP. The fatal accident took place in Portland, Oregon, Gordon’s agent, Calvin Andrews, confirmed to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears.
“Rest in Peace to a great man, father, brother, all around person and basketball player who traveled the world playing the game. My prayers to his wife, children and family. So happy I got to be in his presence in April in Portland. Will miss you brother. Horrible news,” Spears wrote on his X account.
In 2008, Gordon enrolled at UCLA to start his college career. In 2010, he moved to New Mexico. During his senior year, the San Diego native averaged 13.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. He was named to the first team of the MWC and took home the MVP trophy from the MWC championship.
