Marcus Canizales, 50, Hayward, Died From A Motorcycle accident in South Lake: The California Highway Patrol reports that Hayward resident Marcus Canizales, 50, died in a motorcycle accident near South Lake Tahoe on Monday night. On May 27, at approximately 5 p.m., a collision happened on State Route 88 close to Red Lake.
According to the CHP, Canizales was traveling west on SR 88 on a Harley Davidson motorbike when he is thought to have veered over the double yellow lines and struck an eastbound BMW motorcycle head-on. Both riders were thrown from their motorcycles by the impact. At the scene, Canizales was pronounced dead. Major injuries were sustained by the other rider, Christopher Jost, 52, of Gardnerville, Nevada, and he was sent to Barton Memorial Hospital. There is a continuing inquiry into the crash.
