Pricilla Dean Pierson Obituary – A 44-year-old police officer in Louisiana has tragically passed away while on duty. Cpl. Pricilla Dean Pierson, a dedicated member of the Ponchatoula Police Department, died unexpectedly on Tuesday during her service with the department. Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson disclosed that Pierson was discovered unresponsive at a supermarket at approximately 10 a.m., where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The department reported that Pierson, aged 44, was on patrol duty when a bystander noticed her unconscious at the grocery store and promptly contacted emergency services. Upon receiving the distress call, police and fire units, alongside personnel from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office, swiftly responded to the scene.
Chief Layrisson emphasized that the cause of Pierson’s untimely death has yet to be determined. Pierson embarked on her journey with the department as a part-time communications officer and later ascended to the rank of corporal within the patrol division. Her tenure with the Ponchatoula police spanned six years.
Authorities revealed that Pierson is survived by three children, two stepchildren, and her husband Larry Pierson, a captain who has faithfully served in the Ponchatoula Police Department for over 25 years.
“She was a great person, wife, and an outstanding mother,” Chief Layrisson praised. “Our community has experienced a tremendous loss today. We ask that you continue praying for Pricillia’s family, Larry, and her friends and co-workers.”
Details regarding funeral arrangements are currently pending and will be announced in due course.
