Barb Stoeser Death – The victim of a single-vehicle crash south of Fort Pierre on Friday afternoon has been identified as Barb Stoeser, a 63-year-old woman from Midland. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on May 24 when Stoeser was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus on War Creek Road. For reasons unknown, her vehicle veered off the road and entered the east ditch, resulting in multiple rolls before coming to a stop on its passenger side.
Unfortunately, Stoeser succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash. It is worth noting that she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the incident, and all information released thus far is preliminary.
