Weekend Crash On Route 136 Kills Washington Woman:
In South Strabane Township, a three-car collision on Sunday resulted in the death of a Washington lady. When police arrived at the scene of the collision between Route 136 and Davis School Road just after 2:00 p.m., they saw cars and debris strewn all over the road, according to South Strabane firemen.
Rose Marie Gillespie, 93, was one of the wounded parties in the collision. She was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in Pittsburgh, where she passed away about three hours later, as per the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office. Her death’s cause and mode of death weren’t made public right away.
According to South Strabane firemen, two more persons were hurt as well, one of whom was sent to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. For around two hours on Sunday afternoon, Route 136 was blocked as police conducted their investigation. South Strabane police did not immediately respond to a phone call seeking information on the crash. Firefighters from North Strabane and Washington assisted South Strabane at the scene.
