Carmen Broach Florence SC Obituary, Community mourns beloved man death: Earnest Allen Broach, 80, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. Born in Florence, he was the son of the late Earnest B. Broach and Ella Mae Hatchell Broach. Earnest had a fulfilling career, retiring from Sears after over 15 years of dedicated service. He was a valued member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church and had a passion for woodworking. Along with being a co-owner of Broach’s Swing Shop, Earnest was an avid fisherman. He was known as a great husband, father, and grandfather, whose presence will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Earnest was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Borey Broach, Larry Olen Broach, Charles R. Broach, and his sister, Janette Hawkins. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Burgess Broach, and his sons, Brantley (Sommer) Allen Broach and Christopher Julian Broach, both residing in Florence. Earnest also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Carmen Marie Broach of Florence and Lauren Grace Broach of Pamplico, and great-grandchildren, Ellie and Sandra. His surviving brothers, Ralph (Annie Mae) Broach and Ranerson (Mary) Broach, both of Florence, as well as many dear friends, will also mourn his loss.
Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Free Will Baptist Church, located at 897 Third Loop Road, Florence, SC 29505, in honor of Earnest’s memory and dedication to his faith. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Peace Free Will Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will take place in Garden of Memories, under the direction of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
