A Hartford man was arrested after striking two police cruisers while allegedly attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle, police said.

Jahari Dorsey, 25, is facing charges of larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an officer and engaging police in pursuit, according to the West Hartford Police Department.

Officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of Park Road and Prospect Avenue around 2:43 a.m. on Friday, police said. Once the vehicle was located, officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle allegedly fled and struck two police cruisers, according to police.

Police said they used tire deflation devices but the vehicle continued to flee on to Interstate 84 West from Kane Street before losing control and striking a guardrail.

Dorsey allegedly ran from the vehicle and was arrested a short time later with the assistance of a West Hartford K-9 unit, according to police.

Police said the vehicle, a Red Ford Focus, had been reported stolen out of New Haven.

Dorsey is being held on a $300,000 bond. Police said additional charges may be forthcoming.
