Terry Anthony Dorch Obituary, Death; – On Monday, May 27, 2024, at around 0546 hours, Troopers from Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack were dispatched to Maryland Route 5 (Leonardtown Road) near Lakewood Place following a report of an individual lying in the median of the road.
The male individual was declared deceased at the scene, and fragments of a vehicle were found close to the person. Given the circumstances, the Maryland State Police CRASH Team took over the investigation. An initial inquiry carried out by Troopers from the MSP La Plata Barrack and the MSP CRASH Team suggests that a (Unknown Year/Model) Ford was driving in the first lane of northbound Maryland Route 5 near Lakewood Place. Simultaneously, a pedestrian, later identified as Terry Anthony Dorch, aged 54 from Waldorf, MD, was walking in the same lane of Maryland Route 5 near Lakewood Place.
The vehicle collided with Mr. Dorch and did not stop at the scene. It is suspected that Mr. Dorch was hit sometime during the night. A left side mirror from the vehicle involved in the collision was discovered at the scene. This type of mirror is commonly found on Ford Superduty, Expeditions, and Excursion models.
