4 Escapees Are Being Sought After In Louisiana, 3 Of Whom Are Suspected Of Homicide.
Three of the four escapees from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail, which is located just north of New Orleans, are suspected of homicide, according to the parish sheriff’s office. Authorities in Louisiana are looking for the four prisoners.
In a statement, Sheriff Daniel Edwards claimed that during their free time in the yard, they managed to escape across the outer fence of the jail.
Later examination revealed that “a section of the fence was … vulnerable and easily maneuvered in such a way that a small statured body could slide through.”
The names of the three homicide suspects were Travon Johnson, 21, of Natalbany, La.; Avery Guidry, 19, of Hammond, La.; and Omarion Hookfin, 19, of Natalbany, La.
According to the office, Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, of Amity, Louisiana, was the fourth escapee.
According to the agency, Cyprian was serving time for armed robbery and firearms offenses, and additional time was added for accusing him of aggravated violence while he was incarcerated in Catahoula Parish. Hookfin, Guidry, and Johnson were all behind bars for their suspected participation in a 2022 homicide in Hammond.
