Malotia was born on August 15, 1962, in Pago Pago, American Samoa. From an early age, he exhibited a remarkable sense of responsibility and a deep love for his family. Growing up in a close-knit community, Malotia learned the importance of unity, compassion, and resilience—values he carried with him throughout his life. His journey took him from the islands of Samoa to the bustling streets of the mainland United States, where he built a life filled with love and purpose.
As a father, Malotia’s love knew no bounds. He poured his heart and soul into nurturing his children, guiding them with wisdom, and instilling compassion, integrity, and resilience in them. His children were his greatest pride and joy, and his legacy of love will continue to live on through them. Malotia’s daughter, Lealofisa, recalls how her father was always there with a comforting word or a piece of sage advice, no matter the situation. His sons, Tanu and Manu, remember the countless hours spent playing sports and working on projects together, learning from a man who led by example.
Malotia’s professional life was marked by dedication and a tireless work ethic. As a skilled carpenter, he took immense pride in his craft, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully built homes and structures that testify to his hard work and meticulous attention to detail. Colleagues and clients alike admired his ability to transform raw materials into works of art, always ensuring that his work exceeded expectations. Beyond the physical structures, Malotia built lasting relationships, and he is known for his integrity, reliability, and the genuine care he showed for those he worked with.
Beyond his roles within his family and professional life, Malotia was a dear friend to many, always ready with a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a joke to lift spirits. His laughter was infectious, and his presence brightened even the darkest days. Friends often gathered at the King household, drawn by Malotia’s warmth and hospitality. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to his generous spirit. He will be remembered not only for his humor but also for his kindness, his compassion, and his unwavering friendship.
Malotia’s community involvement was extensive and impactful. He volunteered at local shelters, participated in community clean-up projects, and was an active church member. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and providing a source of strength and comfort. Fellow parishioners at Holy Disciples Catholic Church remember Malotia as a dedicated servant of the church, always willing to lend a hand and offer support wherever needed.
