Mark Solis Death, Corpus Christi Fire Department Firefighter and Engineer Has Passed Away: Colon cancer claimed the life of a cherished member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD). Mark Solis, who was the subject of a February 2023 story by KRIS 6 News, lost his lengthy fight with Stage 4 colon cancer on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
For almost 23 years, Solis worked as an engineer and firefighter for the CCFD. He provided service to Fire Stations #14, #16, #3, #6, and #10. Solis was given a job in the Training Division as well. In a statement, Chief Brandon Wade expressed how his department was devastated by the death of their sibling firefighter. Even after his cancer fight, Solis never allowed it diminish his commitment to the CCFD.
“Mark Solis bravely battled cancer, exemplifying the attitude of commitment and selflessness. Wade stated, “Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with his family and friends. Four children, a wife, and an ex-wife are left behind by Solis. As soon as they are available, funeral service details will be disclosed. Chief Wade has asked that neighbors pray for the Solis family during this trying time and has approved the shrouding of firefighter badges until Firefighter Solis’s services are over.
