Amari Dreakford Death – The family of the 16-year-old boy who lost his life in a shooting incident in Lauderdale Lakes is grieving the tragic loss of their beloved family member. Family members have confirmed the identity of the deceased teenager as Amari Dreakford through a GoFundMe account.
The shooting occurred on Monday night in the vicinity of the 4000 block of Northwest 30th Terrace, resulting in the death of Dreakford and the injury of another teenager. A witness described the sequence of events, stating that the first victim fell immediately after being shot, while the second victim was able to run away quickly.
Surveillance footage from a Ring camera captured a young man pacing in the patio area just moments before the gunfire erupted nearby. The individual’s face is blurred, leaving uncertainty about his involvement in the shooting.
Upon hearing the gunshots, neighbors acted swiftly by calling 911 and providing assistance to the wounded victims. Law enforcement officers from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units arrived at the scene following reports of the shooting around 8:30 p.m.
A dispatcher relayed information about the injuries sustained by the victims, indicating that one Black male was shot in the face, chest, and leg.
Detectives are currently working to locate the perpetrator responsible for the shooting.
The community is now grappling with the heartbreaking sight of the deceased teenager in his final moments as he lay on the driveway.
