Robert Giles Death – The identity of the individual who perished in a collision involving two vehicles near Fruitland on Monday has been disclosed by authorities. According to the Idaho State Police, a 55-year-old man from Caldwell was operating an SUV in a northerly direction on U.S. 95 in Payette County when he abruptly swerved to the left and collided with a Ford truck shortly after 10 a.m.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office officially identified the deceased truck driver as Robert Giles, a 53-year-old resident of Boise, on Wednesday. Despite being transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center by ambulance, Giles could not be saved despite efforts to resuscitate him, as stated in a news release by the coroner’s office. Giles was pronounced dead at 12:43 p.m. in the emergency room of the hospital.
The coroner attributed his demise to multiple blunt force injuries, ruling it as an accidental death. Although the SUV driver survived the incident, they required transportation to the hospital via air ambulance. To facilitate the assistance of first responders and the clearing of the accident site, traffic was halted for approximately two hours, as reported by the police. The Boise police department continued their investigation into the incident on Wednesday.
