A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Tolland on Thursday evening.

The crash occurred in the area of 175 Mile Hill Road where a motorist heading north struck a man who was walking in the opposite direction with his snowblower in the northbound shoulder, according to Connecticut State Police.

The driver allegedly took off after the crash and is believed to have continued north toward Vernon, state police said.

The victim was taken to Hartford Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to state police.

Troopers believe the vehicle that was involved was a white sedan. The car likely has damage to its front passenger side bumper near the wheel well and may be missing part of the bumper, state police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
