It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darrell Hamilton, a cherished member of the Kentwood Real Estate family, after bravely battling cancer. Darrell, one of the founding brokers of Kentwood Cherry Creek, joined the company in October 1998 and made a significant and lasting impact on our company and the Denver real estate industry.
Darrell was widely recognized throughout his career for his expertise in luxury real estate and his commitment to “elevated lifestyles.” Despite facing a courageous 16-month battle with cancer, Darrell’s passion for real estate never waned. For him, real estate was more than just a career—it was a source of light and energy that fueled his spirit. Remarkably, even in the face of illness, Darrell excelled, finishing among the top 10 performers in the first quarter, a testament to his unwavering dedication and resilience.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Darrell was known for his signature bowties, love of travel, and dry humor. His unique style and personality endeared him to clients and colleagues, as he brought a sense of flair and individuality to everything he did. Darrell’s presence inspired those around him, encouraging others to strive for greatness with his boundless optimism and determination.
Darrell is survived by his devoted spouse, William Huang, who stood by his side throughout his battle with cancer. He is also survived by other family members, including his twin brother Dennis and sister-in-law Karen, who reside in the Portland, Oregon area, where Darrell was raised. His warmth, wisdom, and guidance will be deeply missed by the numerous friends and coworkers who considered him a confidant and mentor.
While Darrell’s passing leaves a profound sadness, his legacy of tenacity, commitment, and zest for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be remembered with great affection and profound gratitude for impacting our business and the broader community. May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
