Man Dies in N. Charleston Police Custody: The North Charleston, South Carolina. (WCSC) – State investigators are looking into the death of a man on Monday night while he was in the custody of the North Charleston Police Department.
The individual experienced a medical issue after being brought into custody, according to North Charleston police spokesperson Harve Jacobs, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was contacted to conduct an investigation.
With assistance from the Goose Creek Police Department, officers were in Goose Creek to execute two warrants for the man’s assault and battery, according to Jacobs.
The individual passed unconscious from a medical ailment but was taken into prison without incident. According to Jacobs, at roughly 7:39 p.m., the individual was declared deceased at a hospital after EMS was called. The man’s identify is yet unknown.
