Oil truck crash in Cheshire causes spill of hazardous materials

Police are investigating a crash involving an oil truck in Cheshire on Wednesday that resulted in a spill of hazardous materials.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle, rollover crash on Mountain Brook Drive involving an oil truck on Wednesday which caused a hazardous materials incident, according to the Cheshire Police Department.

The Cheshire Fire Department and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the scene to coordinate containment and cleanup, police said.

According to police, no injuries were reported by the truck driver. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

South Brooksvale Road was closed to southbound traffic from Bethany Mountain Road (Route 42) to Mountain Brook Drive during the
investigation and cleanup of the incident.
