A New York woman has been sentenced to nine months of home confinement after she was allegedly caught telling an undercover officer that she was sexually interested in children.
Sasha May, formerly known as Owen May, 24, of Pelham, New York, faced sentencing on Monday in federal court in Bridgeport, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.
During the hearing, U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley sentenced May to a day in prison and 10 years of supervised release, officials said. The first nine months of the release period must be served in home detention with electronic monitoring, federal authorities said.
According to authorities, May engaged in online conversations with an undercover law enforcement officer on the messaging platforms Kik and Whisper between December 2023 and May 2024. In the conversations, May detailed her sexual interest in children and distributed child pornography, officials said.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, the Greenwich Police Department and the Pelham Police Department in New York.
May was arrested in August 2024. On July 24, 2025, she pleaded guilty to possession and access with intent to view child pornography.
