Today, heaven welcomed a remarkable soul, Jean “Sunday” Wetzel, who passed unexpectedly this morning. Known for her hard work and boundless love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Jean’s presence will be deeply missed. We ask for your prayers during this difficult time.
Though she was 93 years old, Jean possessed the spirit and vitality of a teenager. Her infectious giggle and love for making others laugh brought joy to everyone around her. Despite facing many challenges in life, she single-handedly managed to do the best with what she had, demonstrating an unwavering strength and resilience.
While we will miss her dearly, Jean’s smile, laughter, and vibrant personality will live on in our hearts forever. Just two weeks ago, while in the hospital, she sang a playful song, “over here, over there… over here, over there!” It was a moment filled with laughter and joy, reflecting her indomitable spirit. Perhaps she knew something we didn’t, as yesterday she was “over here,” and today she is “over there” in heaven, spreading her wings.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, May 21, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Ludwick Funeral Home in Kutztown, PA. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church on Old Rt 22 near Krumsville, PA. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by the service.
