Two adults and a child have died in a hit-and-run accident in Watertown Township, near Wacousta and Corrison Roads.
Law enforcement confirmed to Channel3 NOW that a total of 11 people were struck by a female driver from Gratiot County while they were heading to their grandparent’s house.
The Clinton County Sheriff reported that two adults were found dead at the scene.
Nine others were hospitalized, and one child later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The woman who hit the group fled the scene but was later apprehended.
Police suspect alcohol was involved.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has closed the road for the night to allow for an ongoing investigation.
