James Alsup, a beloved inhabitant of Eureka, Missouri, passed away on May 15, 2024, at the age of 68. James was a very giving man who loved to give back to the community and assist others. Those who knew him feel his loss very deeply.
Born on September 9, 1955, James completed his high school education at Eureka before turning 18. He continued his education at the University of Missouri, where he earned a degree in environmental science.
James made environmental preservation his career and worked hard to protect Missouri’s breathtaking natural environs. Many were inspired by his commitment to sustainability and preservation, and he saw his profession as more than just a job.
James served as a city council member and volunteered for numerous neighborhood organizations as part of his active involvement in the Eureka community.
He was instrumental in organizing educational programs geared toward children, community clean-up days, and other environmental enhancement initiatives. He received numerous awards from local and state authorities in recognition of his services.
Aside from his profession and voluntary work, James was a devoted parent and spouse. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, his two children, Daniel and Rebecca, and his three grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
According to his family and friends, James was a man of integrity, good nature, and compassion who was always ready to provide a helping hand or a consoling word.
