Shawano WI:- A 13-year-old female has died following a deadly all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident that happened on the 15th of May 2024 in the area of Landstad Rd and Two Creek Rd, Shawano, Wisconsin. The victim has been identified as Chloe Zernicke of Bonduel. According to reports, Chloe Zernicke, an 8th grader at St. Paul Bonduel passed away from injuries sustained in the ATV crash.
How did the crash happen?
At about 8:30 p.m. on May 15, 2024, an ATV crash was reported to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office by a 911 caller. The crash happened near Landstad Rd and Two Creek Rd. A 13-year-old girl was in a crash and she was found unconscious at the scene of the crash, according to responding officers. The crash occurred on private land close to this scene.
What happened to Chloe Zernicke?
CPR was already being done on the child, upon arrival of the authorities. Navarino-Lessor EMS and NEW Ambulance were also at the scene of the incident. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash from her injuries. Thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and community during this difficult time.
Investigation ongoing
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was called to help because the accident involved an ATV. The first investigation proved that the child was the only person in the ATV and driving it when the accident happened. On the scene of the crash, there was one person who could help the police understand what happened. Everyone involved, including the child’s parents, cooperated with police. The Wisconsin DNR is the main agency looking into this crash, and they will not be releasing any more details at this time.
