Renowned musician, dancer, and author Octavia Marie-Madeleine Reese of Chicago, Illinois has sadly passed away. She died sadly leaving family, friends, and those that knew her heartbroken. She was confirmed dead on Thursday 16th May 2024 through a Facebook post that reads “We are devastated by the sudden and unexpected passing of Octavia Marie-Madeleine Reese”. As at the time this report was made, the actual cause of Octavia Reese’s death has not been made public.
Octavia Reese Education
After graduating from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Classical Studies on a full academic scholarship, Octavia Reese, a native of Detroit, was awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship Fellowship. However, she chose not to move to France in order to compete in the Miss America competition in Las Vegas in 2006, where she would have represented her home state of Michigan as Miss Michigan 2005. She eventually had a family and began writing novels during her sons’ naptimes when they were toddlers.
Since then, she has grown her family. During this time, she was also working as a grant writer and as the Director of the Leaders of Tomorrow youth program at Roseland Christian Ministries. During this time, she served as a mentor to children and teenagers for a number of years. Eventually, she made the decision to pursue a childhood ambition of working in the healthcare industry.
Octavia Reese Career
After gaining expertise in directing the development and execution of programs for a non-profit organization, Octavia went on to earn certifications as an Epic Analyst and Principal Trainer. She then went on to spend the subsequent seven years working as a corporate instructional experience designer, concentrating in the fields of surgery, anesthesia, radiology, and population health. While Octavia was expanding her talents to concentrate on data-informed engagement methods, she also began pursuing a new passion, which was the design of consumer digital health products. As of right now, Octavia is the Chief Innovation Officer and Founder of OcTech Health. At this company, she provides a wide variety of consulting expertise in customer experience, ranging from user acquisition strategy to user retention strategy.
Octavia graduated from Northwestern University with a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Informatics Administration in 2022. Her concentration was in user experience design and global health technology. In addition to being a mother to three sons, Octavia is a linguist, a karaoke queen, a writer, a cellist, a dancer, a dreamer, a laugher, a flying trapezer, a traveller, a linguist, and a karaoke queen. Her hobbies are so diverse that they are endless.
