Dr. Lucius Doucet III Obituary – A small aircraft traveling from Baton Rouge to Louisville, Kentucky, crashed in Tennessee, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. According to our partners at the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, one of the victims was Dr. Lucius Doucet III, a well-known plastic surgeon from Baton Rouge. The identities of the other two victims have not been disclosed yet.
The plane departed from the regional airport in Gonzales, Louisiana, and crashed in Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Chief Deputy Mark Elrod of Williamson County stated that the aircraft appeared to have broken apart while in flight. Chief Deputy Elrod further mentioned that the debris field stretches over a mile, but there have been no reports of any damage to structures in the area.
During a news conference, Jill Burgin, spokesperson for the Williamson County Emergency Management Agency, revealed that they received a 911 call around 12:05 p.m. The caller provided limited information, stating that they heard a sound and observed debris, indicating a possible plane crash. The Federal Aviation Association has identified the aircraft as a single-engine Beechcraft V35. Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
