Extricating a person who had become submerged in a grain bin in rural Murray County on Tuesday afternoon required the assistance of emergency personnel from a number of different municipalities in the surrounding region. It was reported by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office that a male victim was extracted from the grain; however, they did not provide any information regarding his identity or the severity of his condition. According to a press release issued by Chief Deputy Bryan Bose, the incident is still being investigated.

An individual was reported to be trapped within a grain bin at a location located on the 700 block of 211th Street, according to a news release. The complaint was received by the Murray County dispatch at approximately 3:17 p.m. It was reported that the individual was entirely submerged in the grain, and others who were there at the incident were unable to locate him.
At the incident, the Marshall Fire Department, the Balaton Fire Department and Ambulance, the Tracy Fire Department, the Garvin Fire Department, the North Memorial Ambulance, and the North Memorial Air Care all responded. The Sheriff’s Office was also present. The victim was able to be extracted from the grain bin by emergency responders, who remained at the scene for approximately one hour, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, March 22, 2024, and throughout the Tri-State area, a call was placed for an emergency situation at a grain bin. At approximately two o’clock in the afternoon, the Richland City location of Spencer County dispatch received a call regarding a person who was stuck inside a grain bin on County Road 750 West. The scene was responded to by deputies, as well as the Indiana State Police, the Rockport Police Department, the Spencer County Ambulance Service, the Luce Township Fire Department, the Ohio Township Fire Department, and the Chrisney Fire Department.
There was a grain bin that Robert Brock, who was 62 years old at the time, was cleaning out when he became stuck in the auger mechanism. Although the sheriff reports that the bin was largely empty, there was some grain at the bottom of the container. StatFlight is said to have carried Brock to Evansville, according to the officials. In his current state, Brock is in a critical condition.
